Describe what you know about the book so far. (Setting, characters, plot, etc).
I am reading the book the Scythe. The setting takes place on Earth and mentioned Mars colonized but a disaster occurred there. It is now the future. Humanity has conquered illness and disease, age and decay. With the miracles of technology death is easily avoidable. This is possible due to the creation of nanites and ambulatory measures controlled by "the thunderhead." Although this sounds like an ideal world there is a twist to it. Overpopulation is easily obtainable if everyone has the ability to avoid death. So they made the Scythe. The Scythe's have the power to glean (kill) anyone. They are not permitted to have spouses or children. As a Scythe you have to wear a robe if you ever go out in public. It sounds pretty lame at first but there is some good to it. They are a high rank and are practically superior to mankind. If anyone attempted to kill a Scythe they would be killed along with their family. They are granted immunity and have the ability to grant anyone immunity. Here comes the best part.... They get everything free. In my opinion that would be the deal breaker. Lets move onto the main characters. This story revolves around 2 main characters named Citra and Rowan that come from completely different backgrounds. They are brought together by a man of high rank named Scythe Faraday. They become his apprentices of his and follow his footsteps of Scythedom. I've always loved dystopian/Utopian style of books. They usually aren't boring and actually catch my attention. I’ve read Fahrenheit 451 and and The Darkest Path. I’m really interested in this genre of books and wish to find more of this relation.
